A normal pregnancy lasts nine months, or about 38 to 42 weeks. A newborn is considered to be premature if they are born before they are 37 weeks old.

Preemie & Remembrance Babies

It is my intent to accommodate those special Mother's that have

requested this section be added to my website. They too want to

come to my website and see pictures of their special babies.

My sincere apology to those that find this section of my work offensive in any way. My intention is centered around love and care for all.

I have had numerous requests for a Preemie & Remembrance Page to be

added to my website. After deep consideration I have now opened a

Special Care /NICU Nursery. This nursery contains remembrance preemies I have made for these special Mom's. Neonatology and Preemies were my specialty in

Nursing for many years, and it has carried over into my work as a Reborn artist.

This Neonatal Nursery is dedicated to all those precious babies and

parents who have survived, as well as those that had to return to heaven.

I lost my own baby and also a Grandchild, so I know the pain that comes with it,

first hand. "Every baby counts" and each of them will be remembered and

kept in our hearts forever and always.

Most babies are fully developed and ready to be born within one or two weeks of their estimated due date, so a full term pregnancy is defined as anything between 38-42 weeks of gestation.

Babies born before 38 weeks gestation are considered premature.

Most Preemies are born between 29 to 37 weeks of gestation. They are 15 to 18 inches in length and weigh 1 1/2 to 4 lbs. Their skin is very delicate and thin. Mottling and veining is very apparent on preemies. Their skin is a lot different than a healthy

full term newborn, and you can see the many veins and thick mottling.
